ചെന്നൈ: തമിഴ്നാട് മുഖ്യമന്ത്രി കരുണാനിധി സ്ഥാനം രാജി വച്ചു. ഡിഎംകെയ്ക്ക് തിര‍ഞ്ഞെടുപ്പിലേറ്റ കനത്ത പരാജയത്തെ തുടര്‍ന്നാണ് രാജി.

അപ്രതീക്ഷിതമായ വന്‍ വിജയമാണ് ജയലളിതയുടെ നേതൃത്ത്വത്തില്‍ എഐഎഡിഎംകെ നേടിയത്. പുതിയ സര്‍ക്കാര്‍ അധികാരത്തില്‍ എത്തും വരെ കാവല്‍ മന്ത്രിസഭയായി കരുണാനിധിയുടെ മന്ത്രിസഭ തുടരും.

കരുണാനിധിയുടെ മകനായ സ്റ്റാലിന് വളരെ ചെറിയ ഭൂരിപക്ഷം മാത്രമേ നേടാനായുള്ളു. പ്രധാനപ്പെട്ട പല ഡിഎംകെ മന്ത്രിമാരും വളരെ ചെറിയ ഭൂരിപക്ഷത്തില്‍ ജയിയ്ക്കുകയോ പരാജയപ്പെടുകയോ ചെയ്തു.
