ലണ്ടന്: മാധ്യമ ഭീമന് റൂപര്ട്ട് മര്ഡോക്കിന്റെ ഉടമസ്ഥതയിലുള്ള 'സണ്ഡേ ടൈംസ്' പത്രം പാക് പ്രസിഡന്റ് ആസിഫ് അലി സര്ദാരിയുടെ സ്വകാര്യവിവരങ്ങള് ചോര്ത്തിയതായി റിപ്പോര്ട്ട്.
മര്ഡോക്കിന്റെ ഉടമസ്ഥതയിലുള്ള മാധ്യമങ്ങള് ഫോണ് ചോര്ത്തല് അടക്കമുള്ള അധാര്മികമായ രീതികള് വാര്ത്താശേഖരണത്തിനുപയോഗിക്കുന്നതിനെ കുറിച്ചു നിര്ണ്ണായക വിവരങ്ങള് പുറത്തുവിട്ട 'ഗാര്ഡിയന്' റിപ്പോര്ട്ടര് നിക് ഡേവിസാണ് ഇക്കാര്യം വെളിപ്പെടുത്തിയത്. ഡേവിസിന്റെ പുതിയ പുസ്തകമായ 'ഫ്ലാറ്റ് എര്ത്ത് ന്യൂസി'ലാണ് ഇതു സംബന്ധിച്ച വിവരമുള്ളത്. സര്ദാരിയുടെ ക്രെഡിറ്റ് കാര്ഡ് രേഖകളാണ് 'സണ്ഡേ ടൈംസ്' ചോര്ത്തിയതെന്നാണ് ഡേവിസ് പറയുന്നത്.
ഡേവിസിന്റെ പുസ്തകത്തിലെ 'ദ ഡാര്ക്ക് ആര്ട്സ്' എന്ന അധ്യായത്തിലാണ് സ്വകാര്യ കുറ്റാന്വേഷകന്റെ സഹായത്തോടെ 'സണ്ഡേ ടൈംസ്' മുന് പാക് പ്രധാനമന്ത്രി ബേനസീര് ഭൂട്ടോയുടെ ഭര്ത്താവായ സര്ദാരിയുടെ ക്രെഡിറ്റ് കാര്ഡ് രേഖകള് ചോര്ത്തിയെന്ന് ആരോപിക്കുന്നത്. എന്നാല് ഏതു വര്ഷമാണ് രേഖ ചോര്ത്തല് നടന്നതെന്ന് ഡേവിസ് വ്യക്തമാക്കിയിട്ടില്ല.

Nick Davies, a journalist writing for The Guardian who has doggedly exposed the dubious news-gathering practices in the British press, mentions that Zardari's credit-card statement was obtained by a private investigator for The Sunday Times. Davies, an award-winning journalist whose revelations led to the current phone-hacking imbroglio, details several instances of unethical and illegal practices on Fleet Street in his book, 'Flat Earth News'.
