വാഷിങ്ടണ്: ചൊവ്വയില് വെള്ളമൊഴുകിയിരുന്നുവെന്നതിന് തെളിവുമായി നാസ രംഗത്തെത്തി. ചൊവ്വ പര്യവേക്ഷണത്തിന് അയച്ച ഓര്ബിറ്റര് എന്ന ഉപഗ്രഹം അയച്ച ചിത്രങ്ങളാണ് വെള്ളമൊഴുകിയിരുന്നുവെന്നതിനു തെളിവായി നാസ ഉയര്ത്തിക്കാട്ടുന്നത്.
നാസയുടെ ഈ വെളിപ്പെടുത്തല് ഭൂമിയിലേതിനു സമാനമായി ചൊവ്വയില് മനുഷ്യ ജീവന് സാദ്ധ്യമാക്കാന് കഴിയുമോ എന്ന ശാസ്ത്രജ്ഞരുടെ അന്വേഷണത്തിനെ സഹായിക്കുമെന്നാണ് കരുതുന്നത്.
മുന്പ് ചൊവ്വയില് ഐസ്കട്ടയുടെ രൂപത്തില് ജലസാന്നിധ്യമുണ്ടായിരുന്നതായി കണ്ടെത്തിയിരുന്നു. എന്നാല് വെള്ളം ഒഴുകിയിരുന്നുവെന്നതിന് തെളിവ് ലഭിയ്ക്കുന്നത് ഇതാദ്യമായാണ്.
Scientists have detected the first clear signs that water may be flowing on Mars right now, apparently coursing down thousands of slopes inside one of the planet's younger craters. The water - if it is water - appears to be extremely salty and is running inside narrow channels along the inner walls of a small crater called Newton that lies in the planet's southern hemisphere.
