കുവൈറ്റിലെ ഗ്യാസ് റിഫൈനറിയില് ഉണ്ടായ അപകടത്തില് നാല് ഇന്ത്യന് തൊഴിലാളികള് മരിച്ചു. രണ്ട് പേര്ക്ക് പരിക്കേറ്റിട്ടുണ്ട്. കുവൈറ്റ് നാഷണല് പെട്രോളിയം കമ്പനിയുടെ ജീവനക്കാരാണ് മരിച്ചത്.
തമിഴ്നാട്ടില് നിന്നുള്ള രാജാറാം ലക്ഷ്മണ റെഡ്ഡി, ലോഗനാഥന് പൊന്നയ്യ, ജാനകീരാമന് അര്ജുനന്, ശിവചന്ദ്രന് ഷണ്മുഖം എന്നിവരാണ് മരിച്ചത്.
റിഫൈനറിയിലെ ഗ്യാസ് ലിക്വിഫിക്കേഷന് പ്ലാന്റിലാണ് അപകടം ഉണ്ടയത്. പ്ലാന്റിലെ അറ്റകുറ്റ പണികള് നടക്കുകയായിരുന്നു. പൊട്ടിതെറിയിലാണ് നാല് പേര് മരിച്ചത്. സ്വകാര്യ കോണ്ട്രാക്ടറായ ഖരാഫി നാഷണലിന്റെ ജീവനക്കാരാണ് അപകടത്തില് മരിച്ചത്. പരിക്കേറ്റവര് ആശുപത്രിയിലാണ്.
അപകടത്തെക്കുറിച്ച് അന്വേഷിയ്ക്കാന് ഒരു സംഘത്തെ ചുമതലപ്പെടുത്തിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. റിഫൈനറിയുടെ ദൈനംദിന പ്രവര്ത്തനത്തിന് ഈ അപകടം തടസമാവില്ലെന്നാണ് അറിയുന്നത്.
An accident at a gas unit at Ahmadi refinery resulted in the death of four Indian laborers and the injury of two employees, announced KNPC on Saturday. The explosion took place at the Gas Liquefaction Plant at the refinery during maintenance works, Kuwait National Petroleum Co (KNPC) official said in a statement. The deceased are identified as Rajaram Lakshmana Reddy, Loganathan Ponniah, Janakiraman Arjunan and Sivachandran Shanmugam. All of them are from Tamil Nadu state.
